Michelle A Mitchell, RN,MS, CNM
As a student midwife, Michelle trained in both Jersey University Hospital and Trinitas Regional Medical Center. She had the privilege to attend many women in water births, low risk births and attended high risk pregnancies and obstetrical emergencies with her collaborative physicians. Since obtaining her licensure as a CNM, Michelle has delivered hundreds of babies at both Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey and at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. She is certified in Advanced Life Support for Obstetrical Patients (ALSO).
Michelle’s philosophy of midwifery is providing education, empowerment and compassionate care through all phases of a woman’s life cycles. Caring for women during some
of the most transformational experiences for them is an honor. It is important as a midwife to establish a partnership with women and their families so that the plan of care is mutually agreed upon. Michelle believes in using evidenced based practice, as well as Holistic practices in her approach to care.
Michelle currently lives in Oceanport with her daughter, Samantha. They have two dogs and one cat. Michelle is has a large garden where she enjoys planting vegetables, herbs and flowers that bloom all summer and fall. Michelle dedicates a lot of time to supporting dog rescue and raising awareness about local animal shelters. She also supports breast cancer and lupus awareness in the community.
